I’m Tcherno, born in the
Netherlands, raised in Portugal, and living in London since 2016.
From a
young age, I was focused on pursuing my true passion: a professional career in football. Growing
up in a difficult area near Lisbon, I faced many challenges, including limited resources, asthma
and a lack of guidance and family support.... Despite
these obstacles, I remained determined.
As a
child, I respected my parents’ advice, but I also realized that sometimes their guidance
didn’t
align with my path. I was a curious student, excelling in subjects such as math, art
and
technology, but I quickly lost interest in subjects such as history, science and
humanities.
But my persistence in football paid off when I signed with my first football
club, but my career
was cut short when I suffered an ACL knee injury, requiring surgery and a long nine months
of recovery. This injury marked a turning point in my life.
During my recovery, I
discovered dance, a new passion that became my form of expression and
healing. What began as a form of expression gradually evolved into a commitment to
self-taught freestyle dance. Determined to know more, I made a significant sacrifice. I left
home, quit my job, and
sold all my belongings to move to London, immersing myself in the city’s vibrant arts scene
to expand my skills.
The pandemic in 2020 was another defining chapter. While it brought
its own set of challenges, I seized the opportunity to shift my mindset. I reflected,
explored new interests like computer science and coaching, and grew immensely. This period
gave me the mental strength, self-awareness, and clarity to navigate life’s
uncertainties.
Looking back, it's a journey I'm
incredibly proud of. Today, I’m a better, more resilient person than ever before. Now, I
focus on continuous learning, personal growth, and guiding others to navigate life’s
challenges with everything I got.
Long-term, I envision building something that blends art, sports, education, and
wellbeing. A space where people can grow mentally, physically, and spiritually. I may not
know the exact title yet, but I know one thing for sure: I'm here to make a
difference.
